Baby Drowned in Bathtub, Mother Charged

Police said she intentionally left the child unsupervised.

Marlboro, NY — A 25-year-old Marlboro mother was arrested Friday and charged with letting her baby drown.

New York State Police said Kayla M. Pagan intended to give her 10-month-old daughter a bath Friday, July 8, but left the bathroom and her baby unsupervised.

She was absent from the bathroom for what police call “an unreasonable amount of time” during which the bathtub continued to fill with water, and the baby drowned.
