Bedford Board Considering Which Local Roads To Pave In 2019

The Bedford Highway Department has made a list of the town roads in the worst shape.

BEDFORD, NY — Supervisor Chris Burdick included a list of roads the Highway Department recommends paving this year in his "What's New Bedford" email newsletter. The list is below.

The town has 97 miles of paved roads.

"We have gradually increased funding for paving with the goal of repaving all roads approximately once every 12 years," he said in the newsletter. "The present budget (both capital funds and operating funds) allocates $1,325,000 for paving. By comparison due to recession-necessitated reductions, the 2009 budget was approximately $750,000."
