Bedford Buys Sewage Treatment Plant For $1
This will allow some home to stop using septic systems.

BEDFORD, NY — The Town of Bedford has made a deal with the state to buy a Bedford prison complex sewage plant for $1. The deal will allow the hamlets of Bedford Village and Katonah to go online with sewers instead of having to use septic systems.
It’s basically a water-quality issue in that failures in septic fields threaten the nearby Cross River Reservoir, the Journal News said.
New York City will likely pitch in $13 million to aid in the financing of sewer mains.
