Bedford Dems Choose Candidate to Run for Vacant Town Board Seat
The special election will be held March 15.

Bedford Democrats have nominated MaryAnn Carr to run in a special election for the town board.
The election will be held March 15 to fill the seat held by Francis Corcoran, who is now a county legislator.
Michael Minard, vice chairman of the Bedford Democratic Committee, said Carr is well-suited to meet the challenges to helping shape Bedford’s future.

“She is committed to delivering high quality municipal services and strongly supports community organizations, hamlet improvements, affordable housing, maintaining favorable environmental policies in Bedford and the goals of Bedford 2020,” Minard said.
Carr lives in Bedford Hills with her daughther, Sorvina, a senior at Fox Lane High School.

She is an independent information technology contractor and consultant and has worked on projects around the world with annual budgets up to $50 million.
Carr said Bedford is a diverse community that is always seeking to improve the quality of life for its residents.
“Our diversity is what makes us a strong, vibrant community,” she said.
