Bedford Hills Man Accused Of Rape
Police received a call from an acquaintance of a classmate who was allegedly being sexually abused by a neighbor.

BEDFORD, NY — Bedford police arrested a Bedford Hills man and accused him of rape. Police said they received a call Oct. 7 from a young girl who said a classmate of hers was allegedly being sexually abused by a neighbor.
An investigation by the department's detective and patrol divisions, in conjunction with the Westchester County District Attorney's Office, led to the arrest of Julio Cortez, 39, of Bedford Hills.
He was charged with second-degree rape, a felony.

Cortez was arraigned in the Town of Bedford Justice Court and sent to the Westchester County Jail.
He has a return court date of Oct. 22.
