Bedford Hills ShopRite Employees Appear on Cereal Box for Charity

The store was one of 40 top fundraiser for the "Lending a Hand for Hunger" campaign.

BEDFORD, NY - Employees of the ShopRite of Bedford Hills were featured on a special-edition Cheerios box.

Frederick Kane Jr. of Yorktown Heights and Louie Freire of Purdys were selected to appear on 150,000 boxes in recognition of their store’s fundraising efforts during the annual ShopRite Partners in Caring Cheerios Contest, which was in partnership with General Mills.

This year’s contest theme was “Lending a Hand for Hunger” and raised $1.3 million across six states last September.

The store in Bedford Hills raised $6,469 and the two men were selected to appear on the special-edition box for their store’s commitment.
