Bedford Parents Speak Out About School Closings

Parents said they were concerned about how any potential closing would affect their children.

BEDFORD, NY — Whether or not the Bedford school district will be closing any elementary schools is still up in the air. The district's demographic reports have all projected declining numbers of students.

During a public forum Wednesday, all but one of the 22 who people spoke were against closing schools, the Journal News reported.

Parents who did speak said they were concerned about how the potential school closings would affect their children.

Both board President Colette Dow and Superintendent Christopher Manno told attendees said that no decision about closings have been made.
