Bedford Schools Superintendent To Retire
Christopher Manno had been on temporary leave due to health reasons.

BEDFORD, NY — Bedford school district Superintendent Christopher Manno, who stepped down temporarily for medical leave in late October, announced he was resigning Tuesday. In a letter to the community, he said he was retiring for health reasons — "with sadness."
"I am humbled and appreciative of the opportunity I was afforded to serve Bedford Central," he said. "I only regret our work together was not longer."
When Manno stepped down, Assistant Superintendent Joel Adelberg was designated acting superintendent of schools, per board of education policy.
