Blood Drive Unites South Salem FD & Lewisboro Ambulance Corps
The first joint blood drive last year brought in 131 donations in just one day. In addition to doing the right thing, donors can win prizes.
SOUTH SALEM, NY — The first responders who know best about how donating blood can be a matter of life and death are once again teaming up for a blood drive to make the process as simple as it is important.
The South Salem Fire Department and Lewisboro Volunteer Ambulance Corps are partnering up for their second annual spring blood drive on Thursday, April 28th from 2:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. Their joint blood drive last year was successful, bringing in 131 donations in just one day.
"While we often team up in the field on 911 emergency calls this event is a great proactive team effort for another type of emergency, the critical need to resupply the New York Blood Center inventory, especially as post-pandemic life resumes in our community,” said South Salem Fire Department Chief Michael Devito and Lewisboro Volunteer Ambulance Corps Capitan Dan Murth in a joint statement.
