The Glass House

Enjoy a rare opportunity to explore The Glass House and its grounds during the&nbsp;Golden Hour.&nbsp;This special two-hour guided tour offers a&nbsp;golden-hour experience&nbsp;of the site and its many distinct architectural landmarks. In addition, see how the&nbsp;lighting design by Richard Kelly&nbsp;– a pioneer and master of modern architectural lighting and a collaborator with Philip Johnson and Ludwig Mies van der Rohe –&nbsp;transforms the Glass House&nbsp;as the sun sinks in the sky.
This tour runs&nbsp;two hours&nbsp;in duration and is formulated to facilitate&nbsp;photography for personal use.&nbsp;It includes access to the Glass House, Brick House, Painting Gallery, Sculpture Gallery, and Da Monsta, with a&nbsp;three-quarter mile walk over paved, grass, and gravel paths.

This tour runs&nbsp;rain or shine.&nbsp;All&nbsp;ticket sales are final.&nbsp;No refunds will be issued, but tickets may be transferred to another date or program.
All&nbsp;tours depart from the Glass House Visitor Center + Design Store&nbsp;located at 199 Elm Street, New Canaan, CT 06840. Visitors are transported to the site in a shuttle which departs promptly.

Johansson will lead a guided walk to help you see common birds in a 
whole new way – and maybe even spot something uncommon, like this gorgeous Osprey couple, currently nesting in the park (photographed by Bedford Audubon Member Robert Frowenfeld). We’ll have binoculars to lend you and a 
viewing scope on hand so you can get a closer look.&nbsp;Educational materials in English and Spanish will be 
available. All ages and experience levels are welcome. Bring your family
 and friends, and meet us in the park for an afternoon of nature,

Join The Gallery at Yellow Studio for the opening reception of Fiber Forward, a group exhibition featuring 38 women and non-binary artists, on Saturday, May 30, from 4 to 6pm. Curated by Tina Villaveces, Fiber Forward examines fiber art as a site of experimentation and critical inquiry, presenting sculpture, installation, embroidery, weaving, and mixed media that challenge conventional perceptions of the medium. <a href="https://steppingstones.givecloud.co/75" target="_blank" rel="nofollow noopener">Bill &amp; Lois Wilson: In Their Own Words</a>&nbsp;is an intimate and powerful theatrical portrait of two lives that changed the course of recovery history. Told through their own words from the Stepping Stones Archive, the play running June 4 to 6 at 7 p.m. and June 7 at 1 p.m. traces the lives of global humanitarians Bill and Lois Wilson from the spark of young love, through Bill’s 17-year struggle with alcoholism, to his transformative recovery and the cofounding of Alcoholics Anonymous. Along the way, audiences witness the circumstances that led to the genesis of the Twelve Steps of recovery—an enduring framework that has helped millions reclaim their lives.
Actors will portray “Older Bill” and “Older Lois,” offering depth and reflection shaped by years of lived experience, while two "younger" actors bring vitality and urgency to the roles of “Younger Lois” and “Younger Bill.”
More than a biography, the play sheds light on the often-overlooked partnership behind a global movement. Longtime New Yorkers, Bill and Lois Wilson helped lay the foundation for recovery communities that continue to thrive today worldwide, including Alcoholics Anonymous (founded 1935) and Al-Anon (founded 1951). Their legacy endures decades after their passing, continuing to offer hope and healing worldwide.
This production is directed by Trent Dawson, Artistic Director, Katonah Classic Stage, from the play compiled by Laurie Heffner-Lewis. The 111-minute plus intermission production is made from the Wilsons’ personal writings preserved in the Stepping Stones Archive, bringing authenticity and emotional resonance to this compelling story of love, resilience, and redemption.
Stepping Stones is the private, non-profit, and tax-exempt National Historic Landmark site and archive that was the long-time home of the Wilsons and continues to welcome tour visitors by reservation and has robust online, off-site, and in-person programming, a play program, and an Online Archive Portal viewable worldwide. The Katonah, NY site has 8-acres of gardens and grounds, the Wilson home and Bill's writing studio, and 110,000 original documents and artifacts.&nbsp;
This production is being presented to celebrate the 75th Annual Stepping Stones Lois' Family Groups Picnic weekend. On Tuesday, April 14th, the Bedford Democratic Committee endorsed Beth Davidson from the field of Democratic contenders vying for the NY-17 congressional candidacy to defeat Republican incumbent Mike Lawler in the 2026 election.
A Rockland County Legislator, Beth is Chair of the Environment Committee and Vice Chair of the Housing and Economic Development Committee. She is a former two-term Nyack school board member with a two-decade history of service on both sides of the Hudson. 
At EMILY’s List, Beth helped to elect pro-choice Democratic women across the country – senators, representatives and governors. At the National Multiple Sclerosis Society, Davidson raised awareness and funds for those impacted by MS. Closer to home, Beth serves at the Rockland County Pride Center as a volunteer and advocate.
Bedford Democratic District Leader Kevin McAvey spoke for many in the BDC as he endorsed Beth Davidson last night: “Beth Davidson has decades of experience serving her community, and a legacy of fighting for our most vulnerable.She is a skilled listener and tireless coalition-builder. Beth has the temperament and track record to win this election – and deliver for our district.” 
The Democratic primary for NY-17 will be held June 23rd 2026. Early voting begins June 13th.
