On Tuesday, April 14th, the Bedford Democratic Committee endorsed Beth Davidson from the field of Democratic contenders vying for the NY-17 congressional candidacy to defeat Republican incumbent Mike Lawler in the 2026 election.
A Rockland County Legislator, Beth is Chair of the Environment Committee and Vice Chair of the Housing and Economic Development Committee. She is a former two-term Nyack school board member with a two-decade history of service on both sides of the Hudson.
At EMILY’s List, Beth helped to elect pro-choice Democratic women across the country – senators, representatives and governors. At the National Multiple Sclerosis Society, Davidson raised awareness and funds for those impacted by MS. Closer to home, Beth serves at the Rockland County Pride Center as a volunteer and advocate.
Bedford Democratic District Leader Kevin McAvey spoke for many in the BDC as he endorsed Beth Davidson last night: “Beth Davidson has decades of experience serving her community, and a legacy of fighting for our most vulnerable.She is a skilled listener and tireless coalition-builder. The Democratic primary for NY-17 will be held June 23rd 2026. Early voting begins June 13th.
