Celebrities to Turn Out for Bedford Playhouse Benefit

"Playing for the Playhouse" will feature celebs with local ties.

BEDFORD, NY — Glenn Close and Paul Shaffer are two of the area celebrities who will be helping to raise funds for the renovation of the Bedford Playhouse.

According to information on the Bedford Playhouse website, “Playing for the Playhouse” will be a celebration of movies and performing arts Friday, August 26 from 7 p.m. to 9 p.m.

The evening will feature a reception with performances by Chevy Chase, Mrs. Marvin Hamlisch, Robert Klein and others.

It will be held at the Walker Center for the Arts at the Harvey School, 260 Jay St. in Katonah.

Organizers of the Bedford Playhouse want to transform the facility into a cutting-edge arts house cinema and community hub.

The deadline to buy tickets is Tuesday, August 23. Open seating tickets, which are $300, can be purchased online here.

Bedford Playhouse organizers said, in accordance with the Harvey School policy, all guests must be 21 or older.
