Chilly Weather, Maybe Snow Return In April In Hudson Valley

Don't let the brief warmup to end March fool you into thinking warmer temps are here to stay.

For those of you who thought winter was over, here is something to keep in the back of your minds. Accuweather.com said in its extended April outlook that chilly air is on tap to begin the month, and there will be several chances for precipitation, and there could even be some snow for some areas.

"While accumulating snow is much less likely in the I-95 corridor of the mid-Atlantic, there are likely to be a small number of storms that may produce at least some wet snow in the Appalachians and central and northwestern New England into the first half of April," AccuWeather Lead Long-Range Meteorologist Paul Pastelok said.

And while the jury is out on whether we'll see anymore snow, April will feature a lot of precipitation, Accuweather.com said.

"People should expect some sort of shower or rain event roughly every other day. It is a type of pattern that may make tackling major outdoor projects a challenge, but may allow some minor or quick tasks to be accomplished, especially where and when the rain falls at night, instead of during the daylight hours," Pastelok said.

In mid-April, temps are expected to moderate.
