CT Man Dead After Motorcycle Collision With Car

State police said the collision is still under investigation.

LEWISBORO, NY — State police are investigating a motorcycle crash in which a Connecticut man was killed. Around 2:15 p.m. Friday, Daniel J. Thiel, 38, of Sandy Hook, CT was operating a 2014 BMW motorcycle on State Route 121 when he struck a 2014 Acura MDX at the intersection of State Route 138.

Thiel was ejected from the motorcycle during the collision and was pronounced dead at the scene by responding Westchester County paramedics.

State police said traffic had to be shut down at the intersection for about four hours due to the collision and the subsequent investigation.

The Town of Lewisboro Police Department assisted at the scene.

The cause of the collision is still under investigation by the state police.
