Dangerous Heat, Humidity In Store For Hudson Valley Tuesday
Heat advisories have been issued for most of the Hudson Valley. Temps could feel like more than 100 degrees.

If you thought it was hot and steamy Monday, then get ready for Tuesday and Wednesday. Heat advisories are in effect for most of the Hudson Valley with heat index values soaring to the low 100s.
For Orange, Putnam, Rockland and Westchester counties, a heat advisory remains in effect from 11 a.m. Tuesday through 9 p.m. Wednesday. The National Weather Service said the humidity will make the daytime temperatures feel like 95 to 104 degrees.
For Columbia, Dutchess and eastern Ulster counties, heat advisories are in effect from 11 a.m. to 8 p.m. Tuesday and 11 a.m. to 8 p.m. Wednesday. In these counties, daytime highs of the upper 80s to lower 90s will feel like the mid 90s to low 100s because of dew points in the lower 70s.

The combination of heat and high humidity levels pose a significant risk for heat stress or other heat-related illnesses particularly to those most vulnerable.

Experts said that people should drink plenty of fluids, stay in air-conditioned rooms, stay out of the sun and check up on relatives and neighbors.

Here is the forecast from the NWS for the remainder of the work week for Westchester County:
- Tuesday: Sunny, with a high near 93. Heat index values as high as 102. West wind 5 to 9 mph.
- Tuesday Night: Mostly clear, with a low around 77. West wind 5 to 7 mph.
- Wednesday: Sunny, with a high near 93. Heat index values as high as 100. Southwest wind 5 to 10 mph.
- Wednesday Night: Mostly clear, with a low around 76. Southwest wind 6 to 8 mph.
- Thursday: A 30 percent chance of showers and thunderstorms, mainly after 10am. Mostly sunny, with a high near 87. Northwest wind 5 to 9 mph.
- Thursday Night: A chance of showers and thunderstorms. Mostly cloudy, with a low around 67. Chance of precipitation is 30%.
- Friday: A chance of showers between 9am and noon. Mostly cloudy, with a high near 75. Chance of precipitation is 30%.
- Friday Night: A 30 percent chance of showers. Mostly cloudy, with a low around 66.
