Early Voting For Primary Election Continues In Hudson Valley

Registered voters have different ways to cast their ballots for the primary election.

HUDSON VALLEY, NY — Voters in the Hudson Valley have choices to make when it comes to the June 23 primary election. Not only are there candidates to choose from, but there are now different ways to cast your ballot.

Every registered voter should have received by mail an application for an absentee ballot, due to concerns about the new coronavirus outbreak. Those applications must be sent back by via the post office postmarked on or before June 16 in order to be processed. For absentee applications received by email, fax or telephone, the deadline to return them is close-of-business June 16.

The deadline for the postmarked return of an absentee ballot has been extended to June 23 for the primary election.

Should you wish to vote in person, you may take advantage of early voting, which begins Saturday throughout the Hudson Valley.

The early voting period is from Saturday, June 13 through Sunday, June 21.

Of course, registered voters may vote in person on Tuesday, June 23 at polling places in your community. Because it's a primary, you may not be voting at your normal election polling site.
