Rescheduled: Bedford Central School District Candidates Forum

Hosted by the Bedford Central School District League of Women Voters.

The Board of Education has two seats up for election as follows:

  1. the seat currently held by Eric Karle for which Eric Karle is seeking re-election and is unopposed; term of office is July 1, 2011 through June 30, 2014.
  2. the seat currently held by Mark Chernis for which Mark Chernis is seeking re-election and is being challenged by Richard Hooker of Mount Kisco; term of office is July 1, 2011 through June 30, 2014.

The Candidates Forum will be televised live on BCSD-TV, on the district website via live video streaming, and will subsequently be available for re-play on the district website.

Community members will have the opportunity to ask questions of the candidates running for the seat currently held by Mr. Chernis.

The Annual School District Budget Vote and Board Member election will be held on May 17, 2011. Community members may cast one vote for each Board member seat and vote on the 2011-2011 School Budget. The polls will be open from 7 am until 9 pm. Bedford Central registered voters will cast their vote in the elementary school serving their attendance area.  Information about voting and absentee ballots is available on the district website.
