Bird Banding at the Meadowlands with Meadowlands Commission Naturalist Michael Newhouse and Bedford Audubon. Join Mike and his team for a morning of bird banding – they are determining which stopover habitats are most used by migratory birds on their journey south. This banding project is in its fifth year, having banded more than 17,000 birds in 105 species. Bring a bag lunch to enjoy along the Hackensack River; we’ll conclude the day with a short hike through Harrier Meadow. Depart Bylane at 7:30am. Please pre-register with Jeanne Pollock at jpollock@bedfordaudubon.org or at 914.519.7801.
