BRUNCH AT LE CHÂTEAU TO HONOR KATHY CORY

Town Clerk Kathy Cory, who is retiring after over 45 years of service to the Lewisboro community, is being honored by the Lewisboro Republican Town Committee with a Celebratory Brunch at Le Château Restaurant on Sunday, March 25, 2012 at 12 Noon.

Currently completing her 30th year as Town Clerk, Kathy was recently remarried and is moving to Litchfield County Connecticut to join her husband and begin her life as a newlywed.  She began her career with the Town in 1965 working part-time as a stenographer.  She is being succeeded by her Deputy Clerk, Janet Donohue.

In addition to the myriad responsibilities of the Town Clerk’s office, Kathy is well known as a tireless volunteer working with practically all of the town and school’s service organizations and has been seen working at practically all of the significant community events for decades where she is often wearing red for all of her activities on behalf of the Lions Club.

Kathy earned a reputation for accurate record-keeping and for constantly evaluating and implementing best practices.  Throughout the years her office has been the ever-friendly doorway to the Lewisboro community. Kathy has received numerous accolades, including for developing the Town's award-winning website, and culminating in her being recognized in 2010 as Clerk of the Year by the New York State Town Clerks Association.

Also being honored at the event is Wayne Coluccini who recently stepped down as head of the LRTC where he was a member for over a decade and chair since 2009.  A longtime town resident and Cornell-trained engineer, Mr. Coluccini was for many years active with the school district as a member of numerous advisory committees and with youth sports. His community involvement continues as he remains a Fire Commissioner in South Salem.
