LEWISBORO GOP 2011 KICKOFF PARTY

Two years passes quickly and with local elections around the corner the Lewisboro Republican Town Committee is hosting a 2011 Kickoff Party at One Twenty Three Restaurant in Vista on Tuesday evening June 21.

Heading the ticket is current Town Supervisor Charlie Duffy who is making a bid to become Lewisboro's first two-term supervisor in over a decade.

In a recent letter Wayne Coluccini, Lewisboro GOP chair, told supporters that electing Mr. Duffy as supervisor had been an important first step in returning Lewisboro’s finances to a sound footing, noting how Mr. Duffy, who is a CPA and MBA, had ended the double-digit tax increases and deficit spending of the prior town administration, and taken the steps necessary to preserve the Town’s bond rating by beginning to restore the $1 million budget deficit he inherited.  Mr. Coluccini went on to caution voters, however, that more needed to be done.

Mr. Duffy’s town board running mates are Rhea Mallett and John Pappalardo.  Ms. Mallett is the mother of two and the current co-president of the Increase Miller PTA.  A graduate of Amherst College and Columbia Law School, her career includes several non-profit and NYC government positions, including Executive Director of the Commission to Combat Family Violence in the Office of Mayor Rudolph Giuliani.  Mr. Pappalardo, the father of three, is an active volunteer, especially for sports organizations and in our youth community.  Currently, he is president of the Lewisboro Lions Club where he founded the Leos youth group and is partner in a White Plains law firm where he specializes in litigation of family matters.

Also running for re-election is the remarkable Kathy Cory who was chosen Clerk of the Year for 2010 by the NYS Town Clerks Association and has been our clerk for nearly three decades, and Steve Hill who is running for Highway Superintendent, a position he held previously for three terms from 1998-2003.
