The Lewisboro Horsemen’s Association will hold its first-ever Happy Trails Happy Hour on Thursday evening April 12 at JP’s Lounge, the upstairs bistro at Le Chateau Restaurant in South Salem from 7pm to 10pm. The Association’s board members will be tending bar for the evening with all tips going to benefit the LHA John Jay High School scholarship, which is awarded each year to a high school senior who shows scholarship, a passion for horses and a commitment to community service. The event kicks-off the LHA’s 22nd spring season.
The LHA continues to develop and maintain over 25 miles of riding trails that run throughout Lewisboro across private, public and land trust properties and adjoin the North Salem Bridle Trails Association to the north and run south through the Lewisboro Town Park to Ward Pound Ridge Preservation and the Bedford Riding Lanes Association’s trails. "We are fortunate to live in a community which still welcomes horses, whether in back yard barns or boarding stables," said LHA president Callie Bauer. “Our trails are a precious resource and we strive to keep them open and available to all of our members,” she added.
Other upcoming LHA events include Trail Cleanup Day on April 28, and the Annual Poker Run through the Reservation on May 20th, an event that starts from Lewisboro Town Park and returns for a barbeque in the park’s pavilion. This year's annual Summer Barbecue which honors participating landowners will be on June 30th.
