LHA HUNTER PACE IS SUNDAY SEPT 30

The Lewisboro Horsemen's Association will hold its 2012 Fall Hunter Pace on Sunday, September 30th, at Ward Pound Ridge Reservation.  The LHA Pace is part of the Associated Bridle Trails Fall Pace Series which includes Bedford, Greenwich, Middlebury, Newtown, Pawling, Putnam and Rockefeller State Park in Sleepy Hollow.  Ribbons will be awarded from first to tenth place with winners earning points towards trophies in the Fall Pace Series.


The divisions are Hunt, Pleasure, Junior (at least one rider 18 or under), and Western (at least one Western rider).  Teams may have 2 or 3 riders.  Riders under the age of 14 must be accompanied by an adult.  Back by popular demand is the "Munchkin Run."  


Entrance fees include a hot buffet lunch and admission to the park for one tow vehicle and trailer. Lunch is also available for non-riders.  Pre-event registration fees are $65 adult member rider, $75 non-member adult, $45 junior member, $50 non-member junior, $25 munchkins, $30 lunch for non-riders.  A $10 surcharge is added to registrations on the day of the event.  Start times will be from 8 AM to 12 noon, with lunch served from 11 AM to 2 PM, and the awards ceremony will be at 2 PM.

Proceeds from the Fall Pace help support LHA programs including maintenance of over 25 miles of riding trails that run  throughout Lewisboro across private, public and land trust properties and adjoin the North Salem Bridle Trails Association to the north and run south through the Lewisboro Town Park to Ward Pound Ridge Preservation and the Bedford Riding Lanes Association’s trails. 


Now celebrating its 22st season, the organization holds events throughout the year, including its Spring Poker Run, family barbecues in the summer, trail cleanup days, educational seminars and its Holiday Party, this year on December 9.  The LHA welcomes riders of all disciplines.  Trail Membership is $55 per year for an individual and $65 per family.  Supporting membership for those who do not ride but want to support the trail system is $30.  Juniors are encouraged to join.   Members receive a registration discount for the LHA’s Fall Hunter Pace.
