This Sunday, September 25th, Team Lewisboro’s town board candidates Rhea Mallett and John Pappalardo will be hosting “Sundaes on Sunday,” a Town-Wide Traveling Ice Cream Social intended as an opportunity for Lewisboro residents to meet Team Lewisboro’s slate of candidates for the local Town elections on November 8th and discuss local issues important to them, as well as a chance to get together with friends and family and have some weekend fun.
The day will begin with ice cream and lots of toppings at the Pavilion in Fox Valley Park at 12:30 PM, and then travel to Town Park, finishing at Onatru Farm in the late afternoon. Exact times are set forth below. Children - and adults -will be able to create their own sundaes while
enjoying the afternoon in our town parks. The event is free to Lewisboro residents.
Ms. Mallett, who is a registered Democrat running with the endorsement of the town’s Republican and Conservative committees, is running alongside incumbent Supervisor Charlie Duffy, and former Lions Club president and current Councilman, John Pappalardo. Both she and Mr. Pappalardo currently lead in the preliminary results for the Independence Party primary which they entered as “write-in” candidates. Rounding out the Team are ncumbent Town Clerk, Kathy Cory, and former three-term Highway Superintendent Steve Hill.

According to Ms. Mallett, the mother of two young children, the ice cream social is a way to reach out the community and create an activity for residents to have some family
fun while meeting new people. She said that she enjoyed talking with so many families at last week’s Library Fair and hopes to continue that at the ice cream social.
“Most people I have met in recent weeks share the same set of values and goals for Lewisboro as our Team of candidates. They appreciate the job that Supervisor Charlie Duffy has done to stabilize town finances and our commitment to continue support for recreation programs and environmental issues,” Ms. Mallett said. “A growing
number have expressed concern with the County’s federal housing settlement. I assure them that our Team is united in defending our environmental regulations from HUD’s overreaching and preserving our right to develop the kind of workforce and senior housing our community needs,“ she added.
