Failure to Pay Taxi Fare Leads to Resisting Arrest in Bedford Hills

The woman was traveling from Ossining to Bedford Hills.

BEDFORD, NY - A woman trying to get out of paying for a cab ride ended up getting arrested for resisting arrest.

Bedford police said Nicole Oria, 22, was traveling April 11 from Ossining to Bedford Hills and allegedly refused to pay the $35 fare.

The taxi driver called the police, after taking a photograph of Oria as she was going into her residence.

Police said they made several attempts to talk to her and convince her to pay the fare.

When Oria was told she was being placed under arrest, police said she began actively resisting, both verbally and physically.
