The Joint Terrorism Task Force Division of the FBI is investigating after the device was found Monday afternoon.

BEDFORD, NY — The FBI's Joint Terrorism Task Force is investigating a suspicious device found in the mailbox at 168 Cantitoe St. in Bedford Monday afternoon. That's the Westchester County home of billionaire philanthropist George Soros.

An employee of the residence called police after opening a package, finding the suspicious device — and putting it in a wooded area, police said.

The call came in at 3:45 p.m., said Bedford Police Lt. Andrew M Bellantone. The device was detonated safely, according to news reports.
