Fidelity Investments® New Mt. Kisco Investor Center Staff Volunteers with Boys & Girls Club of Northern Westchester
Volunteers from Fidelity Investments’ Mount Kisco Investor Center and members of the Boys & Girls Club of Northern Westchester (BGCNW) teamed up last week in support of the Club’s expanding garden program.
Fidelity’s volunteer project included an afternoon of planting and construction of a new fence around the community flower and vegetable garden, in preparation for a new greenhouse. The greenhouse, also donated by the financial services firm, will be the foundation for the Club’s new “Kids Growing Food Gardening Program,” an innovative STEM (science, technology, engineering and mathematics) program.
“Fidelity has a long tradition of community service and supporting civic organizations in the neighborhoods where we do business,” said Selena Cefaloni, vice president and branch manager of Fidelity’s Mount Kisco Investor Center. “When Fidelity opened our new Mount Kisco office, the team was eager to find an opportunity to get our hands dirty – literally – on a project that would help our members of our community.”

The gardening program aims to teach children responsibility and an understanding of agriculture, science, and life process with hands-on activities and instructional lessons.
“The Boys & Girls Club has so many great programs that help local kids build self-confidence and learn lifelong skills, and we are excited to partner with them and support those efforts,” said Ms. Cefaloni. “We hope the new greenhouse will help expand the Kids Growing Food Gardening Program, and encourage more kids to participate in the summer months to come.”
