Free Community Naloxone Training At Katonah Village Library
Participants will learn how to recognize the tell-tale signs of an opioid overdose and will be taught how to administer naloxone.

KATONAH, NY — There is no end to what you can learn at the library, but this week, the lesson might just save a life.
NYS Senators Pete Harckham and Shelley Mayer, along with Westchester County Legislator Erika Pierce, will be holding a free community naloxone training this Thursday to teach participants how to reverse the effects of an opioid overdose by administering Naloxone nasally.
According to the CDC, nearly 50,000 people died from an opioid-involved overdose in 2019 alone. One study found that bystanders were present in more than one in three overdoses involving opioids and access to Naloxone could have saved many of those lives, according to the agency.
