Girl's Soccer at Katonah's Harvey School Notches First Victory
Harvey goes on the road for its next game against Chase Collegiate Wednesday, Oct. 1.

The following is from The Harvey School:
The Harvey girls soccer team recorded its first win of the season Wednesday at home defeating a very tough and determined team from EF International, 2-1.
Junior forward Alia Prieto scored the first of Harvey’s two first-half goals off a pass from Julia Frisch who later scored what would prove to be the game winning goal for the Cavaliers on a long cross from senior midfielder Angelique Santiago.

After a back and forth battle for the entire second half, EF cut Harvey’s lead in half and then was given an indirect kick with less than two minutes left in game. EF’s kick was placed in a prime scoring position, but Frisch made a great defensive play to save the game for Harvey. The freshman jumped in front of the shot, tracked down the ball and cleared it out ending the game and securing the win for Harvey. Coach Greg Janos was impressed with Frisch’s play. “Julia stepped up and showed off her willingness to sacrifice for the team by jumping in front of the shot.” Frisch was named player of the game.
After seeing his team lose its first three games of the season, Coach Janos was relieved that the Lady Cavaliers got their first victory. “It wasn’t an easy win by any means, but it was a win and we had to earn it which makes the victory a little sweeter. The girls all played together and I was able to run the bench giving everybody a chance to get in on the action.”
