Greenwich Man Dies, Wife Critically Injured in Scooter Crash in Bedford
The crash occurred Sunday on Old Post Road.
Greenwich resident Frank Verni was killed Sunday, and his wife Joanne Verni critically injured, when the Vespa scooter they were riding on crashed into a tree in Bedford, according to police.
The Journal News reports the crash occurred at about 11:30 a.m. on Old Post Road. Both were taken to Westchester Medical Center where Frank, 66, was pronounced dead. Joanne, 55, remains hospitalized.
According to police, the crash is still under investigation. Frank was driving, and Joanne was riding on the back, and the two were wearing helmets.
