The Harvey School Hosts Acclaimed Muralist Gaia Nov. 3
The talk is part of the Katonah-based school's "Visiting Artist Lecture Series."

The following announcement is from The Harvey School:
The Fine Arts Department at The Harvey School will host highly-acclaimed muralist Gaia Monday, Nov. 3, as the third artist in its Visiting Artist Lecture Series.
Gaia, who grew up in New York City, is a recent graduate of the Maryland Institute College of Art in Baltimore, Maryland. His studio work, installations and gallery projects have been exhibited throughout the world, most notably in The Baltimore Museum of Art, Rice Gallery and Palazzo Collicola Arti Visive. His street work has been documented and featured in several books on urban art, including, most recently, Beyond the Street: The 100 Leading Figures in Urban Art, (Berlin, 2010).

Gaia, who lives and works in Baltimore, MD, spends a majority of his time traveling and painting murals across the world.
Harvey art teacher Richard Price says Gaia’s visit “will offer Harvey students an opportunity to meet and appreciate a working street artist considered to be among the leading figures in the street art scene, a muralist who has an acclaimed gallery presence in all the major art cities in the United States and internationally.”

The event will take place at 11:30 a.m. in the gallery of The Walker Center for the Arts on The Harvey School campus.
