Hazardous Weather Outlook Issued for Monday

The possibility exists for icy conditions during the day.

A wintry mix is in the forecast for much of the lower and mid-Hudson Valley for Monday.

The National Weather Service has issued Hazardous Weather Outlooks for Dutchess, Orange, Putnam, Rockland, Ulster and northern Westchester counties.

With the exception of Dutchess and Ulster counties, the forecast is calling for spotty light freezing rain or freezing drizzle developing Monday morning into early afternoon.

Temperatures will slowly rise into the upper 20s and lower 30s, after which the icing threat ends from south to north by mid-afternoon as temps rise above freezing.

For Dutchess and Ulster counties, there could be a brief period of a wintry mix this afternoon and early evening before temperature rise above freezing.

After that, the precipitation changes to rain.

The NWS said if the possible of ice becomes more likely a freezing rain advisory will be issued.
