House Fire In Lewisboro Remains Under Investigation
Law enforcement was initially called to the area for a report of a man running through the neighborhood.

LEWISBORO, NY — A devastating house fire on Smith Ridge Road in the Town of Lewisboro remains under investigation. State police said troopers and the Lewisboro police responded March 13 to Smith Ridge Road for a report of a man running through the neighborhood.
Upon arrival, it was discovered that a residence on that road was fully engulfed in flames.
South Salem Fire Department personnel, as well as adjacent fire departments, responded to put out the blaze.

Police said the homeowner, Stephen McMahon, 58, was found suffering from burn wounds in the nearby woods.
He became combative with EMS personnel, police said, and was taken into custody in order to get him medical care at Westchester Medical Center.

The investigation continues to be investigated by the state police and the Westchester County Cause and Origin Team.
