I-684 Double Lane Closures Begin Today Near Saw Mill River Pkwy
The construction schedule will depend on the weather forecast, but delays can be expected on Tuesday and Wednesday, according to NYDOT.
BEDFORD, NY — Bridge repairs on Interstate 684 will cause lane closures near the Saw Mill River Parkway exit in Bedford on Tuesday and Wednesday, according to a travel advisory issued by the NYDOT.
The New York State Department of Transportation says Westchester County drivers should expect varying double lane closures along Interstate 684 over the next couple of days. The southbound lanes between exit 5 for the Saw Mill River Parkway and Exit 4 for State Route 172 in Bedford will be affected by bridge repair work on Oct. 5 and Oct. 6, from 10 a.m. and 2 p.m.
If weather permits, the construction will take place after the morning rush hour and wrap up prior to the evening commute.

The DOR is reminding drivers to "move over a lane," if safely possible, or slow down significantly whenever encountering roadside vehicles displaying red, white, blue, amber or green lights, including maintenance and construction vehicles in work zones.The agency notes that fines are doubled for speeding in a work zone. Convictions of two or more speeding violations in a work zone could result in a driver's license suspension.
