KSDT is celebrating its 50th Year Anniversary THIS weekend

The Katonah Memorial Pool is going to be buzzing with activity this Sunday!

In the morning, the Katonah Swim and Dive Team will be hosting its annual Katonah Invitational.  Invited teams include: Bedford Hills, Bedford Village, Lewisboro and Pleasantville.  It is the most anticipated meet of the season.  The races are fast and fun.  The raffle prizes are amazing.  And, the vibe around the pool is just simply AWESOME! (Be sure to check back here for results from the Invitational!)

But this year, the Invitational Day will be super special.  Since 1964, the Katonah Swim and Dive Team has been an integral part of summer activities for children at Katonah Memorial Pool (formerly, the Legion Pool). Therefore, after the Invitational ends, the KSDT will be hosting alumni team members at the pool for the 50th Anniversary Celebration!

The party will start this Sunday at approximately noon when the Invitational ends!  Alumni, current swimmers and their families are welcome.  Barbara Tremain and Jo Voege, former KSDT “swim moms”, have been invaluable  throughout the planning process.  Due to the generosity of the Town of Bedford Recreation Department, the pool will be closed to the public during the party.  Attendees are asked to bring their own picnic lunch.  There are chairs and umbrellas at the pool but they are limited. A celebratory cake and a DJ to get us in the party mood will be provided!

Many of the records from the team were lost in the pool house fire several years ago, and we have been contacting alumni through word of mouth and the Katonah Kids page on Facebook.  If you are a KSDT alumnus, who we have not reached yet and you would like to attend, please email the KSDT Parent Committee (GoKSDT@hotmail.com)!

Go KSDT!.... for another 50 years!
