Lane Closures Scheduled for First Week of October on I-684

BEDFORD, NY — Road crews will be performing another round of maintenance work on I-684 that will necessitate lane closures the week of October 3.

The state Department of Transportation said lane closures are expected to occur on Interstate 684 between Exit 3 (Route 22) and Exit 4 (Route 172) beginning Monday, October 3, through Thursday, October 6, from 9:30 a.m. to 2 p.m., while crews perform maintenance activities.

The maintenance will take place weather permitting.

The DOT said that drivers should use caution traveling through work zones and pay attention to traffic control devices.

Fines are doubled for speeding in a work zone, and convictions of two or more speeding violations could result in the suspension of a driver license.
