Lane Closures Scheduled for I-684 in Bedford

BEDFORD, NY — Construction work will force lane closures in the Town of Bedford on I-684.

The Department of Transportation said beginning Monday, August 29 through Friday, September 16 lane closures are expected between both the northbound and southbound entrance and exit ramps for Exit 4 (Route 172).

The lanes will be closed from 2 a.m. to 6 a.m., weather permitting.

One lane will remain open in each direction, but motorists should anticipate delays.

DOT officials said drivers should use caution when traveling through the work zone area and pay particular attention to all traffic control devices, including signs and flaggers.

Fines are doubled for speeding in a work zone, and convictions of two or more speeding violations in a work zone could result in the suspension of an individual’s driver license.
