Lane Closures Planned for I-684 Through September

The Department of Transportation said delays are anticipated and motorists should seek alternate routes.

Bedford, NY — Thinking of taking I-684 to get wherever you are going at night?

Well, beginning Sunday, July 16 and continuing through Friday, Sept. 30, there will be single- and double-lane closures between Exit 6, Route 35, and Exit 8, Hardscrabble Road, in the towns of Bedford, Lewisboro and North Salem.

Weather permitting, the state Department of Transportation said crews will be performing construction activities and drivers should anticipate delays and look for alternate routes when possible.

The closures will occur Sundays through Thursdays, the DOT said.

Single-lane closure will begin at 9 p.m., with double-lane closures expected to begin at 11 p.m.

All lanes are anticipated to reopen by 6 a.m. each morning.

The DOT wants to remind motorists that fines are doubled for speeding in a work zone, and that two or more speeding violations in a work zone could mean the suspension of your driver's license.
