Last Chance: Primary Voter Registration

Local deadlines you don't want to miss.

There are two voting deadlines this week. First, it's the last week to have a say in which local businesses win  in categories ranging from best burgers to hair salons and landscapers. Voting ends Friday, August 17.

In official election news, Friday, August 17 is also an important registration deadline for the Sept. 13 state and local primaries.

Mail-in registration

Application must be postmarked no later than August 17th and received by the Board of Elections no later than August 24th to be eligible to vote in the State & Local Primary.

In-person registration

You may register at your local board of elections or any state agency participating in the National Voter Registration Act, on any business day throughout the year but, to be eligible to vote in the State and Local Primary, your application must be received no later than August 17th.

Change of address

Notices of change of address from registered voters received by August 24th by a county board of elections must be processed and entered in the records in time for the State & Local Primary.
