Legal Expenses, Short Staff, Police Investigation Leave Pound Ridge Library in Shaky Condition
The library will temporarily be closes on Sunday beginning Nov. 27.

POUND RIDGE, NY — After the firing of Pound Ridge Library’s longtime director, the institution is facing other serious problems.
The Journal News reported that police are investigating the possible misuse of a library credit card, legal expenses have topped $223,000 since September and the library will temporarily close Sundays starting Nov. 27.
The library’s board president described the library as being in “dire straits.”

Longtime Director Marilyn Tinter, who was accused of inflating circulation numbers as a way to increase the budget, was let go September 26, and the following day voters elected new people to the board, giving then board president, Erin Trostle, the boot.
