Letter to the Editor: My First Love Is Public Service
"I enjoy being part of the Town Board and working toward solutions to the complex problems that face our community." - Lee Roberts

To The Editor:
As many of you know, I served as a Bedford councilwoman and supervisor for twenty years, until January, 2014. After I retired, I joined several not for profit boards. The two years I have spent doing community service have been very rewarding, but during that time I came to realize that my first love is public service.
I enjoy being part of the Town Board and working toward solutions to the complex problems that face our community. I know how to work effectively with people of all political persuasions and I know how to respect contrary opinions. I want to help move Bedford forward in a positive, inclusive manner, devoid of partisan politics and rancor. This is how I served as a councilwoman and supervisor and I will serve in this spirit if I am elected to the Board.

I think my record speaks for itself , but the accomplishments during my tenure were not achieved by me alone. Enlightened town board members of both parties were also responsible for our progress on environmental initiatives and open space and bike paths and sidewalks and new pool houses and of course, our water filtration plant. We worked together to find common ground and progress for Bedford.
It is an honor and privilege to serve this town and I humbly ask that you return me to office so that I may use my experience and energy to help this community once again.
