LEWISBORO HORSEMEN'S 10TH ANNUAL POKER RUN IS SUNDAY

Lewisboro Horsemen's Association hosts 5 mile pleasure ride from Lewisboro Town Park along bridle trails of Ward Pound Ridge Reservation

The Lewisboro Horsemen's Association’s 10th annual Poker Run will be on Sunday, June 19, 2016. The popular event is a 5 mile pleasure ride through Ward Pound Ridge Reservation that begins and ends at Lewisboro Town Park in South Salem. Riders play a game of chance by collecting playing cards at five checkpoints throughout the course with teams going out between 10 AM and 12 noon. The top teams with the best poker hands win prizes which are awarded at a barbecue lunch from 12 PM to 2 PM in the park’s pavilion.

The early bird entry fee is $35 per rider and $45 on the day of event (teams of two or three). A wild card can be purchased for an additional $10. For Father’s Day, dads who ride receive a free wildcard. Lunch is included in the registration. Non-rider lunch is available for a suggested contribution of $10 (five dollars for children).

Early registration is available on the group's website, www.lhatrails.org.

Founded in 1990, Lewisboro Horsemen’s Association continues to develop and maintain over 25 miles of trails throughout Lewisboro. Dues help support the trails. In addition, LHA members receive a discount on many activities, including the Spring Poker Run, Fall Hunter Pace, and Holiday Party. The LHA also hosts trail cleanup days and educational seminars. This year’s Summer Barbeque, open to LHA landowners, members and their guests, is on Saturday, June 25 and features the band, “The Angry O’Haras.”

Trail Membership is $55 per year for an individual and $65 per family. Junior membership is $45. Supporting membership for those who do not own horses but want to support the trail system is $30. Membership forms are available on the website where payment can be made via PayPal.
