Bedford Stands by the Mayor’s Monarch Pledge

The Town of Bedford is proud to participate in the National Wildlife Federation’s Mayors’ Monarch Pledge to support Monarch butterflies and other pollinators, which are experiencing significant declines.

Our town recognizes the importance of creating Monarch and pollinator habitat at parks, gardens, and other green spaces.

With this pledge our town commits to restoring healthy habitat for pollinators and encourages residents to do the same, so that butterflies, like the Monarch, will once again flourish.

How you can help:
  • Avoid the applications of insecticides in the yard: they harm all insects
  • Plant species native to the United States and the Northeast
  • Keep it dark at night
  • Minimize leaf blower activity
  • Join the Bedford Pollinator Pathway
  • Visit some pollinator gardens on the tour on Sunday, June 25, 2023.
