Man Leads Police On Chase In Stolen Car

The chase wound its way through Bedford, Chappaqua and North Castle.

A 19-year-old man led police on a high-speed chase Thursday before eventually getting caught after crashing a stolen car. The chase began around 5:30 p.m. on the Saw Mill River Parkway southbound in Bedford when police spotted a stolen 2000 Honda Civic.

The chase wound its way through Chappaqua and New Castle as a police helicopter tracked him, the Journal News reported.

The man, whose name was not released, eventually crashed trying to get off I-684 at the exit after Route 35.

After a brief foot chase, the man was caught around 8 p.m. Charges are pending his release from the hospital, the Journal News said.
