Man Who Assaulted Jogger in Westchester Park Being Sought
The incident took place in Ward Pound Ridge Reservation.

POUND RIDGE, NY — Westchester County Police are investigating an assault that happened Wednesday afternoon at Ward Pound Ridge Reservation.
Police said a woman was jogging with her dog on the brown trail around noon when a man wearing a green camouflage jacket, green camouflage pants and black gloves came up behind her and knocked her to the ground.
After a brief struggle with the man, she was able to get away from him and run to safety, police said.

The woman, who is in her 50s, called a family member who reported the incident to the Parks Department staff at Ward Pound Ridge. The parks employee then notified police.
The suspect was described as a white male, possibly in his 40s, who was unshaven and guant-looking.

Police said the motive for the assault was unclear.
Westchester County Police patrol officers, a tracking canine and the Aviation Unit helicopter were deployed to search for the suspect. The New York State Police, Pound Ridge Police Department and the Lewisboro Police Department also assisted. The suspect could not be located and the search was terminated after about four hours.

Ward Pound Ridge Reservation is the county’s largest park, at 4,315 acres, and is located in Pound Ridge and Lewisboro.
