Meet You at the Movies Selichot Program at Temple Shaaray Tefila on Saturday, September 5

Meet You at the Movies is a cinema-based gathering that presents programming from Israel and movies of Jewish interest. Each event features a fascinating movie, stimulating discussion, and unique refreshments. The Ma’aleh School of Television, Film & the Arts, which has brought Jewish film to the world for two decades, kicked off the program last spring. As part of our observance preceding the High Holydays Selichot takes place later in the evening on the Saturday preceding Rosh Hashanah. It consists of time to enjoy the company of others, a program, and a service that includes penitential prayers.

This year’s Selichot program is direct from Israel. We are excited and proud to present Sweet Sins. “A revealing portrait of the head of an orthodox family still searching for religious identity and of his daughter, the director who is rediscovering him.” Come find out what happens. Rabbi Greenberg will lead the post-viewing discussion as part of our Selichot program. There’s sure to be a great exchange of ideas! Friends & guests of Temple Shaaray Tefila are most welcome. Refreshments and schmoozing begin at 8:00 PM, followed by the movie, and a short service. There is no charge for this program.
