Missouri Teen Sentenced In Carjacking Death Of Pound Ridge Man

Another assailant, who the teen has not identified, shot the man.

POUND RIDGE, NY — The Missouri teenager who pleaded guilty to a murder that happened during a carjacking was sentenced Friday, Feb. 9 to 30 years in prison. Richard Donaldson, 17, and two other individuals robbed Pound Ridge resident Kenneth Spalter, 72, and his wife while they were getting out of a car during a visit to St. Louis to see their new grandchild.

Another assailant who Donaldson has not identified shot Spalter as he resisted, the St. Louis Post-Dispatch said.

Spalter was shot Feb 10, 2017. Neighbors came to his aid but he died before being taken away by paramedics.

Donaldson pleaded guilty to second-degree murder, two counts of robbery and other charges.
