MTA Issues Traffic Alerts for Friday in NYC Area

The MTA reports two areas of concern for travelers in and round the New York City area on Friday, June 27, 2014:

Robert F. Kennedy Bridge

There will be several full, intermittent closures of 15-20 minutes at the RFK Bridge’s Harlem River Lift Span Fri., June 27 between 12:01 a.m. and 5 a.m. for maintenance work. Motorists should expect delays and use alternate route.

Hugh L. Carey Tunnel

One tube will be closed this weekend from 9 p.m. Fri.., June 27 through 5 a.m. Mon., June 30. One lane will be open in each direction in remaining tube. Motorists should expect delays.

Upper level closed overnight hours next week, Mon-Sat., June 23-June 28.  Vehicles carrying hazardous materials must use alternate route. Motorists should use lower level. See complete times and closures
