MTA Police Seeking Information About Suspect in Attack at Purdys Station

The suspect left his Texas Longhorns baseball cap behind.

PURDYS, NY — The MTA Police Department are asking for the public’s help in apprehending a man suspected of forcible touching at the Metro-North’s Purdys station.

The incident occurred around 8 a.m. Sunday, August 21 in the northeast corner of the station’s parking lot.

The suspect is described as a male Hispanic, about 25-30 years old. He between 5 feet, 8 inches and 5 feet, 11 inches and weighs 180 pounds. He has a muscular build and a dark complexion.

At the time, the man, who speaks fluent English, was wearing a burnt orange Texas Longhorns hat, reddish T-shirt, light colored three-quarter-length shorts.

While fleeing the scene, he dropped his hat on the dirt path at the station.

Police have asked if that anyone who recognizes the suspect picture on the wanted flier, or who know anyone who wore the hat pictured on the flier, to contact Detective Ken Stewart of the MTA PD District #7 Detectives at 1-845-905-3508 or the on-call Detective Supervisor via MTA Police Communications at 1-718-361-2201.
