'No Criminality' In Monday's Suspicious Incident: Bedford PD
Police were able to identify the driver who spoke to the child about getting in his car.

BEDFORD, NY — Bedford police identified the driver of a vehicle who called out to a Bedford Hills Elementary School student Monday, asking him to get in his car. Police said the incident occurred in the area of Babbitt Road by Buxton Road around 3:10 p.m.
A young white male driving a tan or silver sedan called out to the boy, according to police, “Hey come in my car, I got some candy.”
The car turned onto Buxton Road and drove off.

The student went home and told his mother who called the police.
Bedford officers and detectives canvassed the area with no results.

Tuesday morning, police identified the vehicle and its occupants. Police determined the sedan was driven by a juvenile male who had another juvenile male as a passenger.
It was determined that there was no criminality involved, police said.
The Bedford Central School District was made aware of all aspects of the event.
Police said that students and parents are urged to call them when suspicious incidents are observed.
