A Pathway to Progress in Golden's Bridge
The Golden's Bridge Hamlet Organization and community members take action to make the hamlet safer for pedestrians.

Saturday October 1 from 9am until 12:30 the Golden’s Bridge Hamlet Organization(GBHO) hosted a pathway cleanup along Route 138. Four of the trustees (Mickey DeNicola, Tony Goncalves, Jim Moreo, and Jonathan Monti) Lauren Donohue and Joel Faynschmidt two Leo's from the Lewisboro Lions Club, Ian Rhodes, a Boy Scout from Golden’s Bridge Troop 154, Joanne, Will and Jackson Moreo, Melena Jovanovic Monti, Steve Rogers, and Richard Sklarin all joined in on cutting back weed, brush, and removing trash to reclaim this pedestrian access way.
Phase one is now complete. The pathway from the top of the MTA east lot staircase to just north of the shopping center has been cleared and is now walkable. The next phase is to finish clearing up to just opposite the shopping center then work will begin on the portion of the path that leads to Old Golden’s Bridge. The organization received many thumbs up from motorists as well as a pedestrian who positively commented that it was good to see the pathway usable once again.
The GBHO will ask for additional assistance from Assemblyman Buchwald and Senator Murphy for pedestrian and bicycle enhancements to the hamlet. Both of these officials have given time and energy to other concerns within Golden’s Bridge. The Organization looks forward to continue working with both of these gentlemen.
